ONLINE SELLING DATA MATCHING PROGRAM

The ATO has commenced an initiative with eBay Australia and the Trading Post to review tax compliance of online sellers. The program aims to identify any seller who has made greater than $20,000 of sales in any of the 2008, 2009 or 2010 financial years. A review will be conducted on all taxpayers in this category and letters sent to allow voluntary disclosure of any unreported business activities, prior to the possible commencement of an ATO audit.
